Did you know we don't use tape measures at Bravissimo? Instead we fit by eye as knowing how a bra should look and feel is the best way to find your most comfortable fit - here's how…
How do you know if your bra fits right?
1
How should your band fit?
Most of the support comes from the underband. It should be horizontal around your body without riding up or digging in. We recommend fastening a new bra on its loosest hooks so that you can tighten it if it stretches over time.
2
Where should the underwire of a bra sit?
The underwires in your bra should sit flat on your ribcage (not your boob!) all the way round to your armpits. The wires between your boobs should lie flat against your chest without digging in, rubbing or poking out.
3
How should a bra cup fit?
Make sure your boobs are fully in the cups – a bit of a scoop, wiggle and jiggle usually does the trick! You should fill the cups without any bulging or wrinkling even in a lower-cut style and there should be a smooth line, with no ridge, where the top and the side of the fabric ends.

This is the best sports bra I’ve ever owned. Getting into it is an art, but it’s fantastically comfortable and secure.

Love the Venus Sports Bra, very comfortable, and makes sure that you are not sagging, the only problem is that no one can see it!!!!!

I tried this in a 30HH and a 30J.. but should have gone up in the back and done a J - I could close the back but it was uncomfortably tight (and I'm ALWAYS a 30 back with a H to HH cup). the cup has this really weird shaped compression, I couldn't figure it out, its like it's a rectangular shaped cup and it's trying to squash you in like a lego... it pulls in lovely at the side, unlike some others that widen you. Bit more investigation on cup size perhaps, but I'm not getting this one... and the pattern just looks SOOOO amazing, gutted.......

I am so relieved to have found this sports bra! I have just finished breastfeeding and so extra support is needed! Having done my research I ordered a few branded sports bra’s all of which rendered themselves totally useless and quite embarrassing during an intense bootcamp session! I popped into my local Bravissimo store, tried this one on and it’s honestly the best sports bra I’ve ever owned. It totally sucks the girls in, stops ALL BOUNCE and makes me also look more narrow - the print is also gorg! I’ve found the back true to size and although it’s a bit tight to get on across my boobs once it’s on, it’s worth the initial struggle! I bought a 38H and wear the same size bra usually! More colours please Bravissimo!

I really, really wanted to like this bra. I tried it on about 3 times trying to decide if I could get used to it. And it did reduce bounce a lot. And if I had to, maybe I could have made it work, but in the end I just don't think it was for me. I figured if I had to try it on 3 times to try to decide if I like it, I probably shouldn't get it. So this one is going back.
For one I wish the band was a bit thicker. The 4 hooks in the back felt super secure, but the band in the front was very thin. It also seemed a little too roomy band wise. Cup wise it was fine, but I felt the band could have been a bit more snug in the front.
The main thing I didn't like though was how this bra compressed you. The bra is built very sturdy and your boobs are supposed to go into the very specific indentations in the front. And it really held you in. But the reason it helps with bounce is it not only holds you in but also like down and locked into place. It wasn't forcing my breasts down as it did lift them a bit, but I'm used to my compressing sports bras to really lift my boobs. And that doesn't happen here, the top of the bra for the cups is very thick and sturdy and locks them in. This means no bounce. It was just a feeling I wasn't used to and in the end I just didn't like that much.

I've bought many sports bras my favourite being the Bravissimo Storm bra that's sadly discontinued. This bra has a really odd fit, the cup cuts narrow at the sides even though I'd ordered a size bigger and the front is very pointy and looked odd under a sports top not a smooth fit at all. I rarely write reviews but wanted to say bring back the Storm bra!

The sizing on this bra is completely off! I'm usually a 28hh and like my sports bras tight, but think I'd need a 32 back at the absolute smallest for this to go anywhere near me! I wouldn't want to risk a bigger size in case the stretch meant it would lose support quickly, so it will be going back. Such a shame, since it's so beautiful and I was really excited for a stylish crop-top style for my size.

Pros: no bouncing, at all. That's the gold standard for a sports bra, for me, given that I do a lot of high-impact exercise. Pattern and overall cut are cute. It's comfortable despite having locked the girls down thoroughly - doesn't squeeze too tightly around the ribs, nothing digs in anywhere. I bought one cup size smaller than my usual everyday size, and am happy with that - I think the band is true to size, but I think if I'd got my usual cup, it might have been juuuust a little too roomy.
Cons: four hooks to do up behind the back is (for me) impossible, so I have to do it up at the front and twizzle it around, which means I then have to ask for help if I want to cross the straps over racerback-style. The reason it doesn't allow bounce is that it's constructed to hold down as well as in - almost like having a built-in Boobuddy sort of thing, with the result that the breasts can end up looking a slightly unusual flattened-at-the-top shape, particularly from the side.
Given how well this bra does its job, the pros outweigh the cons for me by a very long way.
