Sustainable fabrics
Using more sustainable fabrics is a long-term strategy that we’re always working towards, and as part of our ongoing commitment to minimising our impact on the environment we aim to maintain or increase the use of these each year. We currently use the below yarns in our ranges that are made from recycled materials and help to reduce our impact on the environment rather than using virgin fibres to make the fabrics that form our Lingerie & Swimwear.
We’ve put together our sustainable fabrics glossary so you can find out more about how each of these fabrics are more sustainable, so you can make more informed choices and better understand the environmental impact of our products. We ensure that it’s clear on each of our products where one of these fabrics is used.
ECONYL® is regenerated nylon fabric. The ECONYL® regeneration system uses nylon from fishing nets, discarded fabrics and plastics to create the fabric (and helps to reduce waste too!)
Q-NOVA® is an environmentally friendly recycled Nylon fibre. It’s printed using 90% less water consumption and 80% less CO2 emissions than virgin polymide production.
SEAQUAL™ yarn is produced from upcycled marine plastic. For every kilogram of upcycled SEAQUAL™ fabric that is then produced, one kilogram of plastic is removed from the sea.
RENEW Cult by JL is a sustainable fabric made from 82% ECONYL® regenerated Nylon fibres rather than using virgin fibres that are made using plastics.
Ecowave from Estilmar is produced with recycled yarns from plastic bottles and waste from the Mediterranean sea. It uses a solar energy and digital printing process that is 100% waterless.
Regen is recycled from post consumer wastes of PET bottles, and is an environmentally friendly product by reducing carbon dioxide emission and landfill waste, while conserving petroleum resources.
Bamboo is one of the most hygienic, breathable and soft materials. Even better, bamboo plantations grow rapidly and self-generate without the need for pesticides, insecticides or fertilisers. They also require little water!
REPREVE is recycled performance fiber made from plastic bottles. Using recycled instead of virgin polyester produces fewer carbon emissions and giving plastic bottles a second life keeps them out of oceans and landfills!
